English language challenges

My experience learning English in the university was very enriching, because thanks to English 3 and 4, now that i exercise my English, i'm able to read book in English all of it, and that was hard for me the last year, i couldn't read or translate books even now i can see movies and series with out subtitles and i can understand all the things that the character are saying, and i think that this it's because this subject, if i wouldn't have this signature maybe i would have neglected my English.

The blogging experience it was fun, well i know that i didn't go to all the classes, but i do all the blogs, and i enjoy doing it, some of then even made me laugh, and this blogs was used for me and for a friend who help me to see all my mistakes (he is going to study English the next year, to be a translator) and it was a very helpful method for me, because i don't usually write in English, and now i can write a lot of things, with out the google translator, and that it's a big progress.

Things that i need to be improved in my English, is my speaking and writing definitely, i still use the same words, basic words and that is so bad, because i look like a child speaking English, my young brother can speak a better English than i can speak, ant that it's kind a sad thing, because he only have 13 years, for that i need to improve my abilities to speak and write in English to reach my brother's level and be able to communicate better with him.

These days i usually use the English, this weak i'm reading a book in English "The rest of us just live here" and it's very confusing, but i'm able to read it, and i'm seeing a lot of series and movies with out subtitles in these days, like shameless (US serie ) the characters talk very fast and in a "south side" English and it's kind a hard to translate, but i have gotten used to this, so it's ok.

Changes to my study programme

It was really hard think about changes in my study programme, it's difficult, because our programme it's very complex, all the subjects was organized by expert professionals that know what they are doing, but i have 1 things until now that are annoying in our study programme. The first "problem" (if i can call it a problem) is with general chemistry laboratory we didn't have all the contents in general chemistry 2, because of that we can't realize some of the experiments of the laboratory, and this is annoying, i think it's not fault of the teachers. but it's not our fault either.

Talking about the workload and length of studies, i really don't have any problema with this, the length of studies it's ok, before was more time, our new study programme have less length of studies, i think it's really great, and this programme give us the chance to do a master meanwhile we do our normal career. The workload it's not heavy for real, so it's not a big deal (for now....), i can do all the things that i usually do.

The facilities of my university are great, i don't have any problem with it, nothing are always broken, stinking or dirty, so nothing to say about that. About use of technology, i'm kind of angry, because we have microscope. but we can't use the most powerful objective (the objective that we have to use with oil). because in other generations the students spotted all the objectives with the oil, and for that reason we can't use this method, it's sad and boring. Finally about teaching methods i really don't have nothing to say, I LOVE the teaching methods of my teachers.

Summer holidays

The magic time of the summer holidays, the period of the year that we have freedom and all the time of the world, we can wake up late, do nothing in all the day, travel around your own city or around the world, eat whatever you want and do whatever you want, because you don't have to study or work (if you don't work in summer).

This summer holidays, i will do many things (like always), starting with go with my two brothers and my parents to Peru, where exactly? well, i don't know, it's kind a surprise, because our mom, don't want to tell us where we go, maybe we don't go to Peru and finally we will go to Argentina.

 The second thing that i will do in my summer holidays it's go with 5 of my friends to La Serena, maybe rent a summer house near to the beach and explore the 4 region of Chile, enjoy the beach, my friends, and the gastronomy of the place.

The third thing that i will do, it's definitely work in February with my best friend, maybe in some combine harvester we don't know yet, the last summer holiday we did that, and we won nearly $300.000, and we worked only 18 days.
 The last thing that i will do this summer it's work (again) in some ONG with my best friend again, it was her idea, but i really exited about this, i have never worked or helped in anything like that. This is my plan for this summer, i hope that i can do all this things.

Addiction?

When someone talk me about drugs or addictions, its kind a hard thing to me, because i don't have any relation with addictable substance, the most nearly experience with any kind of  "drug" is with alcohol maybe, in party or things like that, and is not the big deal, because i only drink one or two times for month, and if i go to this things.

I tried to smoke or drink coffee, but i think that is kind of boring thing, in special smoke, it's so dumb! i didn't feel anything! and the taste of the cigarette it's disgusting, i mean for me it's a disgusting thing. I don't understand how many people can smoke and say that it's enjoyable and a relaxing thing.  And with the coffee it's kind a sugar thing, i don't like bitter taste of the coffee it's only that.

Talking about effects of drugs in the people, the most funny i think it's with alcohol, because it's a inhibitor for our brain, we say thing that without this drug we would never say, and the other effect of the alcohol is that is diuretic, that is one of the most annoying feeling related with drink alcohol.

Well, all of us know about the danger of all kind of drugs. All the drugs are related with one specifically damage, i think that drugs are very dangerous, all of them, but in special the drugs that generate addictions problems. None of the people that i know have a problem with any drug, maybe some friend that smoke marijuana, but not like a real addiction to that drug.

The drugs in my career it's kind of important,because we deal with drugs and we create drugs in special in subjects like toxicology.

Post Graduate studies

When someone talk me about what kind of post graduate studies i will choose. i get a huge fear, this kind of decision it's very hard, in special for us, because we barely start our university studies, and we don't know, what will happen in the future, what kind of subject will like us in that future, or if we will stay in ours careers, because of that start to think about ours post graduate studies is kind a messy decision.

If i had to choose, i think that genetic or toxicological studies will be my post graduate studies, why? because the genetic it's so amazing!! i think that subject in particular, it's one of my favorite subjects in all my entire career, and toxicological studies.... because i think that will be helpful if i try to find a job in the future, because this area it's very important in our times, like in the hospital, they need people with toxicological studies for the drugs that they use in the patients. I will like study this areas in other country, not in Chile, maybe in Canada or France, that will be lovey, and i prefer study this in a blended system, i think that is more easy, and practical, in special with the times, maybe get a job mean while i get this post graduate studies, i don't really know, i don't think too much about it.

My Future Job...

When i start to think in my future job, i think in two things the first one it's be a biochemical (the career that i'm studying ) specialize in the industry area, that will be really great, that its one of my goals, i don't want work in a lab investigating something, i want do repetitive process in a big industry, yeah sound kind of freak.... but that its what i want, because if i can i will love be teacher at the same time that i will working in that industry, that two jobs together are definitely my dream job, mix the professor and industry worker, yeah... while i writing this still sound crazy, i know.

I would love working indoors but always with the chance to travel, in the industrial job, obviously, because with the teacher job, i don't think so. I didn't care too much about the salary, it's not the big deal for me, my fathers don't have a big salary, but we live pretty well, if i can win that amount of money, i think i will be vary happy.  

Talking about specialize or majors i still thinking that while are related to the industrial area it's fine for me, i really don't think to much about it, well not yet, maybe in two years, that will be my most heavy pressure, but know i just enjoying the thing that i learning about my career and that make me happy.

Digressing about music: songs, dances, melodies, groups, films...

The music in my life is very important, because all the things that i do in my routine,i do them while i listen music, like right know writing this post i'm listening Raging by Kygo, but that is just an example, i study, do the dishes, clean up, play and multiple other things.

Talking about the kind of music that i listen the most its complicated because i listen so different styles, i like all of them, i can't choose one, but for example i listen a lot of romantically songs and electronic songs. The song that make me imagine something no matter the kind of the song, i will listen and love it (and listen to many times....), maybe big percent of my playlist are popular songs if that is a kind of music, well that it's my type.

When someone say me what is my favorite instrument in one or two second i answer the violin, definitely, and when is listen the violin of Lindsey Starling, just simple get crazy, it's so great!! the way that she play the violin make me want to learn how to play it, its simple, she its really amazing and she made me love the violin.

My favorite singer it's with out of doubt Sam Smith, The voice of this man charm SO much! the way that he use the acute is very powerful, i remember the first time that i listen to him in the song La La La, in that moment i start to love him and until know i still loving him! in special when i heard the song "Drowning Shadows"...... wow, that make me feel strong feelings, because the lyrics and the way that he sing that song, make me thing that he is suffering, that  he live the lyrics and that made the most charming performance that i ever listen.
Closing this post i really doesn't change to much my music preference, in fact i still listen La oreja de van goh or miguel bose and that singers i have been listening since i was little. And in the last point but no less important the soundtrack of a movie, easy.... the song Sparkle of the movie "Your name".... This song make you crazy while you are seeing the movie, in special when you see one scene, the moment when the protagonist see each other in the parallel train trough the windows and in that second they start to run for all Tokyo just for find the person that they thought never exist, its was simple amazing. Listen by yourself :) .

Our Amazing Human Body: The power of the heart.

Since i was little i thought that the heart its the most important and amazing organ of the body even more amazing that the brain (and the brain is so interesting ) but the heart have something so strange so beauty so powerful that take all my attention, even in the past the old civilization thought that the heart was the center of everything i really do not know why they thought that and i do not know why i think that the hear is more amazing that the brain and the other organs, all the histories, tales and legends put the heart in the center of everything and for me its the same.

The heart its the most important part of the circulatory system, its the pump of the body, the purifier of the blood, the heart make the impulse to send the purified blood to all the body, every single inch of it, and clean all the "bad blood" of the our system, and it lie between the right and left lungs, in the middle of the chest and slightly towards the left of the breastbone and the size of it is about the size of an adult's closed fist, but the size varies according    to an individual's age.

There are some many illness that can affect to the heart, and the most of them are caused by overweight of the person. The overweight affect so much to the heart in many ways, because of that the most common dead of a person with overweight its for a heart illness like the hearts attack or the rheumatic heart disease. Its very important have a healthy life and that helps allot with the heart illness, if you practice sports and you eat healthy food the power and the status of your heart will be perfect that is the secret of a healthy heart.

My best concert ever!

Actually i only went to 3 concert until now, there are not much to choose, but its true that only one of this concert was very meaningful to me and it was the concert of Ed Sheeran "multiply".

It was in April 23 of the year 2015 in the athletic track of Santiago.  The first thing that i remember of that day its that i had 2 test in the school and i messed up because i was thinking in the concert, around the midday i toke the bus to Santiago going to the meeting with mi best friend, Catalina, she was waiting me in the front of the athletic track, when we enter to the event was really funny all the people was to lovely.With Catalina bought one of the most expensive tickets for the concert so we was sitting in the front of the stage, in the sector that we was in the music and cheers of the people was really really amazing and we could see Ed Sheeran so close of him, i felt really good in that 3 hours i song with all of my power, it was a little embarrassing maybe, but it was worth it, i really enjoy that experience, because Ed song my favorite songs of him like "wake me up", "kiss me", "photograph", "thinking out loud" and one of my 3 favorites song from all the songs that i love "Give me love" we song that song for nearly of 8 minutes it was the most enjoyable experience of my life.

If you do not know Ed Sheeran i can tell you somethings about him, He is a British singer-songwriter, he born in February 17 of the year 1991, he have 2 albums "plus" and "multiply", and the two songs most popular from him are "Thinking out loud" and "Give me love".

A country you would like to visit.

One of my biggest dream and goal is visit Canada, and not only that, i would like work and live there, i really don't know why, but one day i woke up with the idea of go to Canada and stay there,maybe because Canada look like a peaceful country, with sweet people and all the atmosphere seem so quietly. Its a place with to many forests and that really charm me.I would love live in a house surrounded with trees i think it would be beautiful, i imagine me reading a book meanwhile the leaf of the trees falling around me, maybe in others countries in the world happen somethings like that, but i only want Canada. I know that sound strange or maybe a little capricious, but is my little guilty pleasure.

The things that i know about Canada its because a familiar live in that country and she told me little things about living there, like she has to buy one car per year because the cold is too strong in winter and the cars break down, or when the teenagers go to the university the state of Canada gift to them apartment to live their own lives, and the last things that i remember that she told me is what in autumn the colors of the street is really beautiful.

Are so many things that i would like to do in Canada like learn french from the Canadians, that sound funny to me in many ways, or travel around all the country until i reach Alaska, a big state of USA separate of the country and near of Canada, are too many things that i want to do in Canada, but know i just planing this fantasy that i want to live in my future.

Despite all the this i only want to work and live there not study, because i love study in my country and i really love study in my university.

My blogging experience

Since i knew the existence of blogs, i never felt any interest about it, i think that this kind of "journal" was very boring and without meaning, sometimes i used to read reviews of books to know if the book that i wanted would funny or not and based on that,decide. It was the only reason that i would feel  some of interest for read a blog.

Now i have other point of view about the blogs, i think is kind of funny read and write blogs, thanks to this blogging experience i can write more fluid and read a little bit of faster, and really do not use the "translate of google" to write my blogs, i learn some new words and how write them, and i learn the format of the blogs to, its very interesting discover all this things in the university, in my school i never had to do something like this, for other side i feel that this experience was kind of important for me, because i could take out things that i always want to say, and for some reasons i could not, like in the blogs of pets, i really dislike pets, or in the case of the favorite picture, i dislike the photographs a little bit, but this picture of my and my grandma its very important to me, because i remember how  much i love her and i miss her, this blogging experience was the most fun "job" that i made for a English class.

What i would include in this experience its definitely two things. The first its write about music, in the all experience i never wrote about songs or artists it will be something nice if in other opportunity we write about this. The second things its a new kind of modality in which we interview some people of the faculty and post it in the blog, it will be kind of dynamic do something like this or maybe translate music or poems it will be nice too.

From the invisible to the visible world and back

To get started i decided to talk about cloning a techniques that is important  to my career and the world of science.

What is it for?
This techniques is used for duplicate an organism to the perfection by using their DNA and a lot of chemicals process to success create of a new organism exactly the same of the first one.
What is the important of this techniques in my career?
Well principal in the biology side of my career, because using this techniques we are able to create some treatments or maybe fix some mistakes in their DNA when we translate this to a new cell, something like that we can do with this techniques and a lot of more things.
Why i chose it ?
That is simple, because the cloning is part of the genetic engineer and for me that branch of the biochemical is very entertaining, the genetic (and cloning) it was the reason that why i decide to study this career.
What future use it may have?
I think that maybe the cloning will be use to clone organs, in the way like cloning organs for people that need one specifically type of organ and its hard to find one.
When i learn about it?
I learn about it when i was in 8 grade in the biology class, i learn specific about dolly, the sheep.
What impact the cloning may have in human welfare?
This question is very important, because the cloning have a several issues with ethical things, what i tried to say is that we can clone a human and that its kind a "scary" thing for some people and can be difficult no just for the human that was cloned, it was difficult for the clone too, because they do not born in a natural way, and the other humans do not be treat him like one maybe.
What advantages/disadvantages it may have ?
The disadvantages i told them in last question, its about ethical things and the advantages are related with the treatments or cloning organs that we can create with cloning.

The most enjoyable subject thus far laboratory techniques

In this subject we learn the basic concept of the laboratory and the most simple experiment that will be use in a near future. We do a lot o experiments and learn to use the machines and things that allowing us to see the wonder of science.

I really like this subject, because the set of activities and situations that make confront teachers is incredibly satisfying and between the tension and the results of experiments one entertains quite.Other reason, because i like this subject is for his divisions of theoretical and practical classes. We have 2 hours of theoretical classes and 4 hours of practical classes. This subject is very interesting. because we do not know what is going to happen in our experiments and that does for me a funny subject.

In laboratory techniques are 4 teachers and 3 auxiliaries and we are about 80 students, and this subjects is very important for our career,because in our lifetime and our working life, we will use it almost every day, if we have some misconception or do not know about the lab could be every harmful and imply errors that may not have any arrangement.

Beautiful minds "Rosalind Franklin"

In the times of the big wars and the beginnings of the technology revolutions, the woman were not involved in many subjects because they were discriminated by the man, by the world of man, supposedly the females weren't able to do the same thing or do things like the males do, obviously in that time they didn't know that was really wrong the woman and the man can do the same things because they are the same the both are humans.

Rosalind Franklin (25 July 1920- 16 April 1958) was one of this kind woman that fought for her gender. She was a great English chemist and X-ray crystallographer, one of the few people able to read a X-ray to the perfection in her time, and she was a woman, it was big deal be in science and female at that time, only few woman can do that and be so important like Rosalind was. She was from England and she studied University of Cambridge.

The most important things that she did, was read and interpret the X-ray of DNA made it by Watson and Crick discovering the double helix of the DNA. She could be the second woman to win the Nobel prize in physiology or medicine in 1962, but the Nobel committee does not make posthumous nominations.

I liked because... well i really do not know why i like her, its hard to say, but since the first time i heard about her i was fascinated with her, be so important in her subject, that was simple amazing! and solve problems related with DNA (my favorite subject) made she more special for me.

About pets, love and friendship...

Well.... to be honest, i don´t like the pets to much, for me the pets are animals chained to humans and i think that its kind a bad think, because for me the freedom its really important so i´m not much of pets or become attached to them, because i feel they suffer, eventhough it is not really or maybe is, i really dont know hahahaha. For this time i will talk about the pet of my family (to many xD), well the pets of my brothers.

The first pet that my family had was "Gitana" (that its the name of the dog), my fathers brought it in the year 2000 when we moved to La Ligua, Gitana was the part of San Felipe that we brought with us, She lived for almost 15 years, and when we thought she die, because we really dont know , she run away like many dogs that escape before dying.

My family had two pets more. The fist one was "Ciel Morgana" a little labrador retriever, she was a pretty dog, we bought it beacuase my little brother had problems making friends and we thought if he had a dog it will be more easier to make friends, until my stupid uncle leave her in the city when we asked to look after her. The second one was a little rabbit that died when my little brother slept over him.

A photograph you like

This photo it is definitely my favorite photograph , i just love it. its hard to me choose a picture because i don't really like the photographs in general, I'm too impatient to wait that someone take me a photo, there is a need in me that makes me move when someone try to take me a photograph, its very funny, because in the most photographs of me, i appear moving or diffuse.

Was take by my cousin Karina in a family meeting, the day that we travel to Argentina with my parents, brothers, and three cousins for a vacation trip in January. Before the trip we lunch in the house of my uncle Gina in San Felipe with part of the family of my grandmother Londina (she is who appear in the photograph)
after the lunch i went to the green swings, few minutes after my grandmother went to sit with me and we speak and sleep a while, and my cousin take a photograph of the moment.

I love this photograph for only one reason is the most beautiful picture that i have with one of the most important people in my life, my grandmother, she have eighty-eight and i love her.

About books and films ...

When i think which of all the books i ever readed its my favourite one, its really hard, but i made the decision that i have 2 favourite books, the first one is a saga called "Unwind" by Neal Shusterman, and its about 3 teenagers, Rita Exposito, Connor and Levi, they lived in a world that have a system called "Unwind" its like a horrible way to abort someone specifically teenarges between the ages of 12 and 18.Connor is the typical rebel boy, anyway his parents disappointed about Connor dicided unwind him. In the case of Levi it was more radical, because he ever knew that he going to be unwinded because his parents paid tithes with the life of Levi. Risa was a case of bad luck,she was an orphan and all the orphans of the world must be outstanding in somethin, she was at the piano until failure in his last hearing and the state decide unwinded her. All the protagonist were found in a strange situation created by Connor and then is when the story start.
I read this saga about 3 years ago well i did not read the last book yet, but i read the other three books and i think that if you want some story that have things about the abortion and what it is all controversial subject under different points of view, it is actually a very good read.

The second one is "La divina comedia" by Dante Aligeri. I read that book two years ago and i love it, the mixture between Greek civilization and the Catholic religion, just me captive, to be honest I could not tell that the book is not make you want to ruin the opportunity to read more than this beautiful piece of literature, if you have not read this book, go read it now.







To end this blog, my favorite movie is "Cloud atlas" a convoluted story that mixes the story of many characters from different eras, creating a network event in a magnitude of hundreds of years, each protagonist influences the other in a beautiful way, i watch this movie with my family when i had 16 years old. I recommend it, because in spite of being a very long movie, keeps you focused on the movie, to know that influences how each player on the other, they have completely distinas lives in completely different time, it is just great

My favourite piece of technology

I think that choose one piece of technology in our times its a crime! We have many interesting artefacts and they make so awesome things, it's a difficult decision choose which is my favourite, but I really believe that the piece of technology that I more use and i like is the computer, because I can do everything with it, i can listen with "Spotify" the songs that i adore with a fantastic audio, i can create the things that i imagine with "Photoshop" and "Microsoft word", I can read all the comics and mangas that i want, i can play "League of legends" and others games with my friends, I can watch countless movies with "Netflix", in resume i can share this piece of technology whit all the people that i love.

The first computer that my family had, was bought by my parents for my older brother, in this computer i learned a lot of this artefact and i discovered so amazing things that i can make with the computers, with the passage of time my parents bought a lot of computers until now that i have my own notebook.
I used my notebook for a lot of things that i mentioned before, how listen music, watch movies, read books, comics and mangas,  even for play, i can use that artefact for whatever i want, its so versatile in this times, even the people use this piece of technology even for socialize. what can i say, i used this artefact a lot of time in the week its amazing.
Despite having said all this i think that the computer isn't necessary in my life is just a way to get fun in this days, if the computer doesn't exist, in my opinion i could do the things that i did in the computer but in other ways, listen music in the radio, watch movies in the cine, get fun with my friends doing others things, share time with the people that i love in other ways, it's just simple, we can live with out computers or smarts things, its obviously, all this time in the earth the human could live with out this things :) .

Why did you choose your career?

When I was a little boy even until I had 16 years old I thought that I was going to be a medic, in this times I was pretty sure that my future was the medicine, healing people and that sort of things. I did not think in other options in that's times, others careers were boring for me, I only had one option and I was focus on it, until my big brother started to study medicine that was the moment when i saw the medicine with other eyes, the medics spend all her time in the hospitals (24/7) even when they rest in their homes or walking in the park, they have the obligations to respond for all near emergency for her that was awful, that destroyed my dreams to be medic, because i wanna have a time for me and for my true dream that even in this times was have a big family.

In 7 grade in my school we started to learn genetic in biology that was awesome to me! the ADN, ARN, cloning, genetic pharmacology, all this things was other world for me, the instruction of the nature for us, the reason why we are what we are, but in this times I still thinking that I will study medicine.
In 11 grade when I decided not study medicine in the same moment I started to learn about Genetic again in my school and this was the instant that I decide to study something related to genetic. I found the career "Molecular Biotechnology Engineering" whose central axis genetics but a family friend studied this career and she told me that the better choise was study biochimestry and i did that.
At the day it was very fun studing here and i think that i make a good choise in my life, but i need still learning and growing up.
In the future i wanna be a doctor in genetic pharmacology and get work in Canada.

Getting to know each other...

Hello everyone, I'm Camilo Quiroz L. I born the 5 of december of 1997 the second child in my family. Talking about my family, my parents lived to close of each other when they are young, about two blocks away between poverty in which they lived and even my uncles were friend and my parents didn't know the existence of each other until they have 20 years, when my father return of concepción, because he studied with his brother who lived in that city. They get in love quickly, and break up three years later, they were not seen for about two years, until my father went to look for her to valparaiso, knowing that she was getting married, because he know that my mother and him were in love yet, and he proposed  not to marry  with the other person and to stay with him, what my mother said yes, all of this its very important, because it generated the beginning of my family as known.
when i have 3 years old my fathers moved to small city called "La Ligua" where i lived for 14 years, in this city i studied in the school "Domingo Ortiz de Rozas", eventhough i never like La Ligua, there i met two very special people for me, my best friends, Catalina Cuevas and Mario Mondaca.

Thanks to Them through very nice moments and i realized that the people i really get along well, are those that don`t fit with the common people, the differents, rares, freaks. I also noticed with them that my sexual orentation was different, i do not mind the sex of the people, for me the most important is what`s inside of the person, no matter that they were men or women, while i was happy with that  person, descovering this i owe them and one other person, i met when i moved again, this time to Valparaiso, at school "Juana Ross de Edward" in 2014, Vania Pasmiño, another very important to me.
This year i start to study biochimestry in "Universidad de chile" because i like the genetic pharmacology , but think that i really adore and i want in my future is guide and help people who need a hand or are lost in their lifes, bisede i want to have a big family, that is the dream of my life.
